The Fleshies 4/29/05
I went to see The Fleshies last night at The Blank Club in San Jose. It was worth the $7 and 2 hrs of shity bands to see them play. There wasn't to many people at the club so the sound was extremely loud, which was fucking rad. The people that were there came because they knew one of the bands. Some of these people thought that I came to the club with The Fleshies. I think because no one could seem to believe that I had heard there music and just wanted to come out and see them play.

There was no disappointment in The Fleshies performance. One of the guitar players in particular makes knarly faces reminessent of pinching a double wide loaf. This gives a feeling of the energy that is being put into the music. The singer (Johnny) is a serious motherfucker. He continualy tried to swing his mic above his head, which caused the small crowd of people to duck and dogde as he tried to catch the mic. Additionally, his mic was on an extra long cable and at one point he nearly walked out the front door of the club while still screaming into the mic. Jumping off of every table in the place, drinking random peoples drinks, rolling on the floor while wacked enebriated girls poored beer on him, and finally throwing a drink directly at the ceiling above the crowd shattering glass onto everyone. Fucking beautiful! The dude is a complete pyschisofrinic, before and after the performance a very approachable guy, but on stage the switch is flipped.

Everything said, their music is true and the lyrics even more so. With songs suck as "Arm the Homeless" and "Yes, I'm Starting Shit" you can't go wrong. Especially if you wake up every day trying to think of new ways to stick it to the man. I will be seeing these guys again.
